ECO LODGE in Ubatuba, SP
In 2001, we started an eco-lodge in the Mata Atlantica, Ubatuba, coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
We started with a rural education project for preservation of nature and water filtering systems for waste water. Talking to children, neighbors, opening eyes of local people that throw their garbage in the rivers and burn nature in order to build concrete houses with satellite TVs.
We worked with schools and offered training in eco-education when visiting the Lodge.
Mata Atlantica is one of the last pieces of the ecological corridor between Amazonian Forest and Foz d'Iguaçu in Argentina. It used to be a huge Forest with one of the largest biodiversity on Earth.
Ubatuba still offers a very large panel and variety of species: Iguanas, Monkeys, Butterflies, Birds, Snakes etc - and of trees.
We now left Brazil but still have 3 Projects on stand by:
- UNESCO protection of Casanga area.
- Compendium on Fauna and Flora of Casanga forest (Mata Atlantica)
- Eco Festival with international artists to raise awareness on the riches of the area and preservation need
